Daniel Gbondo Esq. is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone, Partner and Company Secretary at Fornah-Sesay, Cummings & Co, a leading law firm in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He conducts criminal and civil matters but has a strong interest in Contract Law, Employment Law, Family Law, Mining Law, Property Law, Company and Commercial Law.
Before his legal practice, Daniel served as Natural Resource Management Advisor to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, Republic of Sierra Leone and Environment and Social Performance Advisor at the Millennium Challenge Coordinating Unit, Office of the President of Sierra Leone between 2013 and 2015. He also worked as a Consultant Minerals Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources from 2016 to 2023.
Daniel has consulted for the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Columbia Center for Sustainable Investments (CCSI), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and multi-national mining corporations.
He has drafted major mining laws and regulations in Sierra Leone and contributed to the drafting of major mining policies, Acts and Regulations of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Also, he has presented papers at seminars and conferences on natural resource governance, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, sustainable development and alternative livelihood choices for miners and mining communities.
He is an international conference speaker and has presented papers on mineral sector governance and management-related topics at international seminars and conferences in Africa, Europe, and the United States.
He conducts criminal and civil matters but has strong interest in Contract Law, Employment Law, Family Law, Mining Law, and Property Law.
